Servers Australia's VPS Hosting

VPS Hosting is compatible with both Windows and Linux operating systems. Notably Windows requires more RAM than Linux when hosting a virtual server. Linux hosting provides a stable, sturdy yet cost-effective hosting solution. Most websites have Linux based architecture, while Windows Virtual Private Servers provide the best support for Windows scripts such as ASP and NET.

Included with your virtual server is a free server management package. This allows you to monitor and stay up to date with your server's performance and information. This free VPS management is included with all levels of Virtual Servers.

View more information on the Virtual Server Control Panel.

Our virtual private servers differ from many due to having dedicated resources available for each user. There is no over-allocation of hardware. We have three grades of VPS's, these are: Starter, Professional and Enterprise. Contact our sales team on 1300 788 862 for more information.

Servers Australia Network Map

Check out our network map to see our data centre locations and network speeds

Our core network connectivity is located in Sydney NSW, supplying the metropolitan and CBD area with fast, low ping access to the data centres. It branches out to Penrith and also goes up north to the Central Coast, NSW. It also stems down to Melbourne, to the Next DC data centre.

This network is our network, meaning the only users of it are the customers of Servers Australia. We also provide a 100% Network Uptime SLA.

What's the difference between VDS, VPS & Dedicated Server?

Servers Australia offers both Virtual Dedicated Servers (also known as VDS or VPS) and Dedicated Servers. The main difference between the two technologies is that a Virtual Server generally has lower specifications of a dedicated server and is also on a shared platform with many other customers, therefore this technology is used for lower end sites at a cost effective rate. Virtual Servers are a great reliable platform for many customers.

A dedicated server is a physical machine with the resources being 100% dedicated to just you, this is great for high traffic websites or resource intensive applications. A dedicated server is not as scalable as a Virtual Server, however it can offer a lot more power when coupled with our load balanced solutions View our dedicated servers

What if I outgrow a Dedicated Server or Virtual Servers

Servers Australia specialises in company and website growth, we have helped hundreds of customer's grow from a small site to a large site. We can put you on any platform and optimise it as much as we can through a management plan before you need to upgrade.

If in the event you do outgrow your server and we are unable to further optimise it, then we can arrange to have you transitioned to a more suitable plan, server or platform. For more information on moving plans. Best of all, if you are a managed customer then this service is all part of the management service.

Is shared hosting right for me?

Shared hosting offers a very cost effective fully managed hosting environment which is exceptional value for small to medium traffic websites. It's an great solution for sites which don't require custom application configuration or back end server modification. For sites with increasing traffic volumes, or planned future growth a VPS or dedicated server may be required. Shared hosting is the best starting point for most customers with small to medium traffic sites and it's usually best to stay there whilst you can. Rest assured that we'll let you know when it's time to upgrade.
